ROAD A big thank you to everyone who came to support us during our recent production of Jim Cartwright’s Road at the Civic Hall - it was quite a departure for us from our usual fare: thanks too to everyone who complimented us on the quality of the acting - we are now going to go away and learn how to stop swearing and move on to our next production!
Photographs from Road are now available for viewing on the site. Click here.
OTC NOMINATED FOR 3 NODA AWARDS We are delighted to announce that the Ormskirk Theatre Company have been nominated for 3 Regional NODA North West awards for 2010. The awards are presented annually each August in Southport. Charlotte Taylor has been nominated for Best Actress in a Pantomime for her part as Beauty in I’m Sleeping Beauty - Get Me Out of Here! while Gary Simpson has been nominated as Best Actor for his part as Petruccio in The Taming of the Shrew and as Best Mortal in a Pantomime for Sgt. Scarface in I’m Sleeping Beauty - Get Me Out of Here! - the award ceremony is on August 20, and tuxes and posh frocks are being de-mothballed as we speak. Are flares in fashion at the moment?
SO... WHAT’S NEXT? We’ve reached a brief hiatus following Road and details are still to be finalised regarding the next OTC production. Murdernights are currently planned for August, September and October 2010 and discussions are in place to stage Shirley Valentine late in 2010 or early in 2011. The dates for the next OTC panto are currently uncertain, but it is still hoped to stage our next opus in 2010.
More certain is that the OTC plan to stage J B Preistley’s An Inspector Calls at Ormskirk Civic Hall in March 2011. |

ARCHIVE PAGES In 2011 the Ormskirk Theatre Company celebrates its 20th birthday and in the run-up to that we are planning to construct an archive of previous productions on this website, complete with photos and cast descriptions. The work has begun with pages devoted to our 2007 production of Accrington Pals and our staging of Return to Talbot Manor for Comic Relief in 2009. More shows will be added over the coming months.
